Who I am and How I work

I’m a Minneapolis-based UX design leader who has worked on product teams for over a decade. I got my start in graphic design, and the duality of form and function is fundamental to my approach.

I believe cross-functional collaboration is key to establishing design as the practice of realizing a complete vision, not just the delivery of Figma files.

Just as we understand our users, we must understand our internal partners—their goals and challenges. It’s about recognizing someone’s value and understanding how our work and decisions impact each other. As a design leader, this is what I prioritize.

My teams work through their issues, build confidence, and get shit done.

As a mentor and advocate, I help aspiring designers find ways to build alignment and foster collaboration on fast-moving work with many stakeholders and high visibility.

My Values

Knowing my values and how I reference them is the best way to understand my approach to design leadership.

  • I use candor to build better team dynamics and cultivate lasting relationships with partners.

How this shows up: Direct and honest feedback while still remembering that you are a human with feelings.

  • From users to team members, I tell stories in a way that inspires participation and enthusiasm.

How this shows up: Facilitating ideation sessions that are, dare I say, fun while presenting narratives that anchor and illustrate product strategies.

  • Do not wait for something to happen to make something happen.

How this shows up: I don't wait for alignment, I create it. If I smell smoke, I bring visibility to potential issues before they become problems.

  • I believe it’s possible to challenge each other to push the product and ourselves without making others feel lesser.

How this shows up: Creating safe spaces where respectful disagreement and debate can happen.

  • Being a flexible team player is always great, but know your limits. Be intentional with where you put your energy.

How this shows up: I’m reasonable and not someone who will die on every hill. I preserve my energy for the hills that matter most.
